Vehicle Description
Pontiac first introduced the GTO as an optional package on its
Tempest model in 1964. Credited with starting the Muscle Car rage;
the GTO moved on the become its own model in 1965, with all major
automakers quickly introducing a model to challenge its success.
With an emphasis on street racing; the GTO was a clear front-runner
among muscle cars. In 1966, Pontiac restyled the entire body,
adding a curvier body and unique louvered tail lamps. With
redesigned bucket seats and a modernized instrument panel, the GTO
was fast and appealing.
This 1966 GTO is the result of a no-expense spared restoration. All
around this GOAT is it obvious that a significant amount of time
and money went into bringing it to its fantastic condition. The
trim tag correct Montero Red exterior gleams again the impeccable
brightwork throughout the car's exterior. The power white
convertible top goes up and down at the push of a lever and fits
perfectly. Powered by a 389ci/335hp V8 with Tri-Power carburetors
tied to a 4-speed manual transmission , this GTO represents the
perfect build and is a great vehicle to drive. Options include
matching red interior, bucket seats with console, custom sports
steering wheel, rally gauge cluster with tachometer, and push
button AM/FM radio. With power steering, SafT-Track rear, ride and
handling springs, shocks, stabilizer and Hurst Rally II wheels
riding on newer Redline radial tires, this GTO checks all the
boxes. PHS documents are included with the vehicle.
