this car.
Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this absolutely
stunning 1951 Jaguar XK120 Roadster. This XK120 was treated to a
high quality restoration. The car has a gorgeous Pastel Blue
Metallic blue paintjob, brilliantly refinished chrome, and a
beautiful gray leather interior. It looks beautiful, runs great,
and is a pleasure to drive.
This is an excellent opportunity to own a very rare and highly
desirable classic Jaguar. According to the Jaguar Heritage Trust
only 700 LHD XK120 roadsters were made for 1951. The market on
Jaguar XK's is very hot right now, especially for premium examples
like this car. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for
more than the purchase price in years to come. There is no way
someone could purchase a similar Jaguar and restore it to this
level of quality for anything near our asking price. The previous
owner said that the restoration was completed in 2014. He also said
that when he purchased the car the engine and transmission were
still in the crates from being rebuilt. Please peruse all of the
photos, video, and other information below to get a true sense of
how exceptionally nice this Jaguar really is.
As a side note, this XK120 is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand
pick each car after careful inspection. Our Classics come from
owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the
vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and
encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car
inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We
photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel
confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the
Jaguar, just give us a call.
Exterior
The Pastel Blue Metallic exterior is in beautiful condition. As one
can see in the photos the finish has dazzling gloss, deep shine,
and smooth finish. The wheels and spinners are in excellent
condition with a great finish and no curb rash. The wide whitewall
tires are sized 6.0-16 and have been used sparingly since the
restoration and have plenty of tread left. The chrome looks amazing
with a bright and brilliant finish. The convertible top is in
wonderful condition with no rips, holes, or frayed edges. The side
windows are still wrapped up from the restoration and have never
been installed on the car. There are no major blemishes that have
been intentionally excluded from the photos. There is some slight
delamination on the edge of the left windshield glass. As one can
see in the many photos of the underside, this Jaguar is totally
solid with absolutely no rust; the bottom of the car is
exceptionally clean and almost as nice as the topside.
Interior
The gray interior of the Jaguar looks utterly splendid. The quality
of the workmanship and materials is top-notch. The gauge faces are
crisp and clean and the lenses are crystal clear. The seats are in
excellent condition with no split seams, rips, or excessive wear.
The carpet is also in great condition with no stains, rips, or
holes. The interior chrome and bright work are in wonderful shape
with a superb finish. The dash is in terrific condition with no
cracks, fading, or sun damage. The door panels look excellent. This
car has not been smoked in; there are obviously no burn marks or
aroma of cigarettes what-so-ever.
The trunk is very clean, highly detailed, and well-trimmed with a
matching full size spare, matching chrome wire wheel rim, and
jack.
Mechanical
This Jaguar XK120 seems to be in good mechanical condition. The 3.4
litre inline six engine starts every time, runs well, and idles
smooth. The car drives nicely on the road and at highway speeds. In
the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway
up to about 70mph, braking to a stoplight, and going through some
curves. Please note that there are no vibrations and the car
performs quite well overall. The brakes are responsive and do not
pull to one side or the other. The transmission shifts when you
take your time with the shifts, the shifter is tight, and does not
pop out of gear. The clutch feels good. The horn works, the right
wiper works, but the left needs a hand. The turn signals do not
work. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean, detailed,
and correct as one can see in the photos. Not enough can be said as
to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this Jaguar, especially
with the top down on a beautiful day.
Overall Condition
Overall, this 1951 Jaguar XK120 Fixed-head Coupe is in marvelous
condition. This is truly an investment grade classic. As stated
above, there is absolutely no way someone could restore a Jaguar to
anywhere near this level for any amount near our asking price.
The excellent restoration, the great attention to detail, and the
beautiful color combination make this car especially important and
difficult to duplicate. This Jaguar always gets a ton of attention
driving down the road. It is very apparent that the vehicle has
been well taken care of by its previous owners. One could easily
enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the
purchase price with minimal effort.
Thank you for looking and please email or call with any
