GR Auto Gallery of Indianapolis is proud to present this 1979 Dodge
Lil' Red Express pickup truck for purchase. This truck retains most
of its original red paint and original black interior. This Dodge
is a true survivor. This Lil' Red Express was built on Tuesday
March 20, 1979. It was on the assembly line between 7 - 8 AM at the
Warren truck plant #1. The Lil' Red Express still retains the
original; carpet, wheels, engine, and exhaust system. Upgrades from
the current owner include; FiTech Fuel Injection kit but all of the
original fuel delivery system parts were retained and come with the
truck. The truck is registered with the NALRETO Registry. The owner
also is throwing in a brand new lowering kit that has not been
installed yet. The kit is still in the box and is 2" drop front
spring, and a 4" rear kit. This truck is in great condition, it is
a head turner that is rare to come by - plus it's a lot of fun to
cruise in. Not many production vehicles have this much character
and such a cool story. Please call or email us today for more
information. Drive this one out of our showroom or have us assist
with shipping it to you anywhere in the United States! Don't

During the 1970's American automotive manufacturers had re-defining
their automotive visions. High horsepower was a thing of the
distant past as US regulations forced manufactures to meet strict
emission and fuel economy standards. Dodge was able to find a loop
hole in those regulations and the Lil' Red Express was born. Dodge
was able to thumb its nose at governmental regulators.
The 1978 Lil Red Express did not have catalytic converters. It did
have a special high performance 360 CID 4 Barrel engine code EH1
which was a modified 360 police engine producing net 225 hp at 3800
RPM. It was the fastest American made vehicle at that time from
0-100 mph. With that success, Dodge boosted production to 5118
units for 79 with some subtle design changes including a catalytic
converter, dual square headlights and an 85 mph speedometer.
The 1979 Lil Red Express offered here is a high quality example
featuring 78921 original miles features the original numbers
matching engine that has been rebuilt and the original 727
torqueflite transmission. These trucks are one of the most unique
vehicles that Dodge has ever built and are becoming quite popular
among collectors. A great opportunity to acquire the fastest
American vehicle of the late 70's.
