Vehicle Description
STK 3490 1953 GMC Rat Rod
This 1953 GMC 'Rat Rod' is a traditional hot rod in the true sense
of the word. The all-steel pick-up body has been mounted on a '72
Monte Carlo frame and then refinished in Satin Black with
'barn-board' veneered panels and many, many custom accents.
Extensive fabrication work has been completed that included adding
width and an 18" extension to the cab, removal of the roof and
rearward tilt of the windshield. The GMC is also fitted with a
Chevy truck hood and grill from the same era. The pickup bed was
shortened to four feet and utilizes the original GMC hood modified
to serve as a hinged cover. The truck's bed contains a fuel cell, 5
gal. fuel can and all electrics (12 volt).
Major mechanical enhancements include:
• 2002 Silverado 5.3L Vortec engine
• Nitrous connections (not hooked)
• Silverado 4-speed Automatic transmission
• 10-Bolt GM posi-traction differential
• Power steering
• Power disc/drum brakes
• Air-ride suspension
• Cooper Cobra Radial Tires
• Dual free-flowing exhaust
The original interior has been recreated with bucket seats, center
console, power windows (need TLC), full instrumentation w/tach,
tilt wheel, 'Dual' AM/FM/CD sound system and custom accents that
need to be seen to be appreciated. It is a work of art. This GMC
Rat Rod was built to be driven - become the next owner and have
some fun. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
