Introduced for the 1970 model year, the all-new second generation
Camaro moved the nameplate from that of a straight-line muscle car
to a budget sports car. Think Corvette, but with a back seat.
Dubbed the Super Hugger Camaro, engineers at Chevrolet Motor
Division made improvements with the second-generation car in the
areas of steering, braking, balance and road holding. It was much
more of a driver's car than the first-generation model and
displayed what Chevrolet had learned from time spent at SCCA Trans
Am races with the original Z/28. The body was all new and featured
a slick fast back roofline, longer doors for easier rear seat
access, and double shell unitized roof structure for better noise
isolation and roll over protection. Inside was a new dashboard with
full gauges, a full-length center console, and new for 70' Strato
Bucket seats. The 1970 model Camaro you see for sale here takes all
those improvements and brings it all into the 21st century with
improvements to driveline, suspension, brakes, and interior, but
keeps that classic second-generation styling. Finished in classy
Tuxedo black basecoat/clearcoat paint with tasteful chrome accents,
and polished aluminum Eagle Alloys wheels, this gorgeous second gen
has looks to thrill. Under the hood is an all-aluminum Corvette
sourced LS1 V-8 with a Magnuson MP112 hybrid-roots style
supercharger making approximately 470hp and bolted to a smooth
shifting four speed 4L60E automatic transmission. Out back a GM
12-bolt solid axle rear with 3.07 gear and limited slip put the
power to the pavement. Underneath, a full Hotchkiss suspension with
subframe connectors and Wilwood slotted and drilled 4-piston disc
brakes at all four corners provide control and stopping power that
engineers could have only dreamt of in 1970. Inside is a full
custom leather interior with custom LED lighting throughout, custom
gauges, diamond stitched seats, and a high-powered Pioneer/Kicker
audiophile system. A control panel in the center console operated
the electric door poppers, power windows, and LED lighting. The LED
lighting accents continue underneath the hood, and underneath the
body, all very trick and great for car shows and cruises. This
Camaro is great to look at and even more fun to drive. Call Brian
