This 1973 Ford F-250 Highboy Ranger spent its life in the Pacific
NW so it is a clean and solid truck. This is not a fully restored
Highboy, rather it is a solid original truck that has been
selectively restored by the last owner over the years. It has a
great look and great colors. The Ford Highboy trucks are getting
very expensive and difficult to find for a fair price. This is a
great running and driving truck that has a great look. The body on
this Highboy is nice and clean. It was repainted at some point and
the paint still looks really nice. The original colors were
Wimbledon White and Limestone Green Metallic and it is now
Wimbledon White and Holly Green. The original moldings and the
chrome bumpers are nice. The rear bumper is newer and the front
bumper appears to be original. The underside is clean and very
solid and has not been restored so it looks original. We did not
find any rust issues with this truck.
The interior is really nice. The seat has been recovered and it had
a new headliner and new carpet kit installed recently. The door
panels were also replaced at some point and the dash is original.
The headlights, taillights, brakelights, and turn signals are
working. The gauges are all working and the heater and wipers work.
The horn is inop. This is a really nice basic interior from
1973.
Mechanically this truck is top notch and it runs and drives great.
This truck's original engine was the 360 V8 and it was repowered
with a 7.5L 460 V8 that runs strong with no issues or red flags
that we could find. The engine appears to be mostly stock and it
does have an Edelbrock 4 Barrel Carb. The transmission is the C6
Automatic that shifts nice and it has the Divorced np205 transfer
case. The 4WD works like it should. The rear axle is the Dana 60
with 4.10 gears and the front axle is the Dana 44 with 4.10 gears.
This truck also has power steering and power brakes. This is a
really cool truck for the money.
