Alfredo Vignale created the bodywork of the "Eveline" on the basis of the Fiat 124 sedan, he kept the platform and the mechanics unchanged, as well as the front part of the interior, in relation to the dashboard and instrumentation.
His goal was to build a sports car with average performance and four comfortable seats. Thus he anticipated the Ford Capri and Opel Manta models of the immediately following years.
Particular attention was paid to the comfort of the car, which was equipped with four separate armchairs with armrests and central ashtrays, electric front windows, rear windows that can be opened using a compass, rear view mirror with dipped beam, three courtesy lights, glove compartment with key door, light reverse gear and double front lights.
The equipment list was completed by a wooden steering wheel with two perforated spokes and a vast choice of body and interior colors.
The performance of the "Eveline" follows those of the sedan model from which it derives and, moreover, the 1197 cm³ engine with 60 hp was of considerable power for the time.
Presented at the Turin motor show in 1967, around 200 units were produced.
Thanks to this custom-built Alfredo Vignale was awarded the "Mercurio d'Oro", a recognition to those companies that after the war, instilled confidence and a spirit of competition in the Italian productive and economic system.
