In the mid-2000s, General Motors sought to build a "real sports
car" in addition to its vaunted Corvette. Swings and misses with
the Buick Reatta and Pontiac Fiero were replaced with a HIT both on
the race track and in terms of driving fun, looks, road racing
ability and especially affordability. The Pontiac Solstice is a
rare, collectible and well built two seater sports car from General
Motors. First introduced in 2006, the Solstice was an instant
runaway hit for Pontiac, and remained so up through the end of the
production run for the Solstice and the entire Pontiac Division in
2009.
The Solstice presented at auction is an exceptional low mile car.
The odometer reads 6280 miles and the exterior and interior show
very well. The beautiful red exterior is accentuated by the quality
fabric convertible top. The black leather interior is in excellent
condition with no cracking or wear in the seats or seat-backs.
Mechanically the car is very sound. The motor is strong, the
transmission shifts smooth and the car cruises comfortably around
town or at highway speed. All components work making this an
excellent car to add to a discerning collection or for pure driving
pleasure!
