1963 Corvette Sting Ray
NUT & BOLT RESTORATION!
GREAT OPTIONS!
This 1963 Chevrolet Corvette convertible at Sports Car Company was
acquired by the previous owner in 2007. The subsequent work
consisted of a new wiring harness, stripping and refinishing the
body and chassis, rebuilding the engine, and replacing interior,
exterior, suspension, and suspension brake components. A 340HP
327ci V8 powers the car with a four-speed manual transmission and
is finished in black over black vinyl upholstery.
Features include a black removable hardtop, black convertible top,
power-assisted steering and brakes, 15 inch steel wheels, redline
tires, split chrome bumperettes, flip-up headlights, an analog
clock, a Delco push-button AM/FM radio, and air conditioning. Car
comes with a window sticker, manufacturer's literature, a car
cover, hand-written service records, and a clean North Carolina
title.
The 2-year nut and bolt restoration was completed in 2010, and only
3,000 miles have been driven since the completion. The fiberglass
body was finished in black during the 2010 refurbishment, and
features include a black convertible top, a removable black
hardtop, a vented hood, finned rocker trim, fender vents, split
chrome bumperettes, flip-up headlights, and dual exhaust outlets
that exit through the rear valance.
The 15 inch steel wheels wear knock-off-style hubcaps and are
wrapped in 205/75 BF Goodrich Silvertown Radial redline tires. The
C2 was the first Corvette to offer fully independent suspension,
with upper and lower control arms at the front and a three-link
setup with a transverse leaf spring at the rear. This example
features power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted
drums at all four corners.
The cabin is trimmed in black and fitted with sound-deadening
material and a replacement carpet. The seats have been
reupholstered, and interior accessories include air conditioning,
an analog clock, a reverse lock-out shifter, lap belts, and a Delco
push-button AM/FM radio.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a
tachometer, and gauges for amperage, oil pressure, coolant
temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 3k
miles, all added since the restoration, total mileage is
unknown.
The 327ci V8 was factory rated at 340 horsepower and features a
four-barrel carburetor, finned valve covers, and a chrome air
cleaner assembly and ignition cover.
The engine code and serial number are displayed on the stamping
above. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual
transmission. The frame was stripped and repainted during the 2010
refurbishment, and the engine, transmission, and rear end were
rebuilt.
A window sticker copy is included in the sale and added options and
equipment.
