Vehicle Description
1990 Land Rover Defender 90
Why This Vehicle is Special
The Land Rover Defender 90 was a series of British off-road
vehicles. They have four-wheel drive and were developed in the
1980s from the original Land Rover series which was launched at the
Amsterdam Motor Show in April 1948.
People who have grown up with Defenders know they make a style
statement, the iconic Defender is now also a "cool" ride. We have a
completely restored 1990 Land Rover Defender 90 here at Skyway
Classics that epitomizes that statement.

Mechanical
Our Land Rover Defender sports a bigger 3.9L Rover-derived V8
powertrain that is original engine for this vehicle. An automatic
transmission sends power to all four wheels in true Land Rover
fashion while the shift action is light, the clutch take-up is
clean, and with power steering and front disc brakes, it feels
quite competent on or off the pavement.
The axles look big enough for a semi-tractor and there are stock
suspension components throughout. Black spoke wheels with black
sidewall off-road tires give it an updated look and improved
rock-climbing capabilities.
Interior
Inside our restored 90 it's not quite as plain inside as you'd
expect, with twin high back racing inspired black bucket seats up
front and Land Rover center facing benches in back. It has mats and
matching door panels suggest that the Defender means business,
factory dash with gauges cover the basics and the controls, the
control levers manage the automatic transmission and 2-speed
transfer case, and there's a center console between the seats.
The cargo bay between the seats offers a huge amount of room and
all that open area makes it bright and airy inside with great
visibility.
Exterior
Looking at the lines of the Defender 90, you know it was built for
a purpose, not to say there isn't beauty in the functionality,
because nobody has yet come up with anything that goes through the
brush better than this.
The super black paint has a traditional look, the doors fit nicely,
and it's still undeniably a Land Rover. Big fender flares cover the
oversized tires and there's a simple grille and bumper up front and
the spare tire mounted in the rear.
It has the roll cage, fixed top, side-step bars, with everything
looking better than new.
Conclusion
Nicely kept and totally ready for an adventure, this 1990 Restored
Land Rover Defender we have here at Skyway Classics is the SUV you
need if you really and truly want to live the lifestyle.
