First introduced in 1961, International Harvester produced the
Scout to compete with the Jeep CJ that was rapidly gaining in
popularity with the American driver. The Scout II replaced the
original Scout in 1971 with production ending in 1980. The Scout
II's could be ordered with the Traveltop, which was the full metal
top, Roadster which was a half-cab variant seldom seen, or with a
soft top.
