Eastern Shore Classic Cars is pleased to present this incredibly
well-preserved 1985 Mercedes 300D Turbo Diesel with an
astonishingly low 57,500 original miles. Known internally at MB as
the W123, these models surpassed their predecessor, as the most
successful Mercedes, selling 2.7 million units before production
ended in the autumn of 1985 for the saloon/sedan versions. Notably,
it featured the first Turbo Charged Diesel engine offered in a
passenger car. The W123 gained the reputation of being well-built
and highly reliable. Many taxi companies chose the W123, and they
were a common sight in Germany. Reaching 500,000 or 1,000,000 km
with only minor mechanical issues was common with W123s used as
taxicabs. The fact that anything under 200,000, let alone 57K miles
like this one, is considered "low mileage" is pretty remarkable in
and of itself. This fine example of the 300D Turbo Diesel is
presented in the rare color of Anthracite Gray over Brown Palomino
leather interior. It is a one family-owned car. Originally
purchased by the owners mother, it was given to her son (current
owner) in 2015. At the time, it had 41K miles. The odometer reading
now is 57415. The car comes with extensive repair records and
relevant info, totaling 85 pages. It has retained almost all the
OEM parts, including the A/C. Certain upgrades were made, such as
halogen headlights and fog lights, but the original bulbs have been
retained. A close examination of the pictures and video will reveal
no known rust. An extensive cosmetic and mechanical freshening by
the estates caretaker has been done prior to offering. HVAC has
been fully serviced with new vacuum pods and control panel, a new
heater mono-valve, and a new A/C compressor, receiver-drier, and
expansion valve. The purchase includes several spare and original
parts as well as the original build sheet/window sticker, operating
booklets, and additional service manuals. The Interior has received
a deep cleaning of the leather seats and door panels as well as the
wood trim and crack-free dash. There are no tears in any of the
seats, and the headliner is in pristine condition. Carpets show
little if any wear. it includes the optional sun roof. The trunk is
immaculate. A JVC radio replaced the original Becker AM/FM Cassette
radio, but that radio has been retained is still with the car. A
Sirius radio system is installed. There is also a backup camera on
the car, but it seems to suffer from a loose wire, causing
intermittent failure. The antenna motor also seems to need
attention. This is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most
iconic Mercedes of the 80's in fantastic condition. This classic MB
is offered at a reasonable 25,000. For more information about this
