For Sale: 1967 Chevrolet Camaro in Morgantown, Pennsylvania

Vehicle Description

1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS Convertible

The first-generation Chevrolet Camaro is an American pony car which appeared in Chevrolet dealerships on September 29,1966 for the 1967 model year on a brand-new rear wheel drive GM F-body platform and was available as a 2-door, 2+2 seater. The RS was an appearance package that included hidden headlights, revised tail lights with back-up lights under the rear bumper, RS badging, and exterior bright trim. It was available on any model.

For consignment, we are geared up to go plum crazy for this buttoned up sporty RS Camaro from 1967. Snazzy wheels, low profile tires and these hidden headlights with the sporty wide racing stripes in contrasting white over the plum paint. I'm fully ready to stick my thumb in this one!

Exterior
With its straight pony car long front and short rear deck, we can note all straight rust free steel, and it's all bathed in the deep end of the "pie" plum purple paint. This is accented with nice chrome thin bumpers, wheel well surrounds and window trimmings. Topped off by a white convertible with clear plastic rear window and a rear spoiler to continue the racing stripe down to the tail lighting. The top has all new hoses and a pump for its easy automatic operation. Gaps are well minded and with the 17-inch and 18-inch polished spoke wheels wrapped in all season low profile blackwall rubber. I'd say just "plum condition" overall. Looking behind the wheels check out the shiny disc brake covers to hide the working discs and drums...Looking cool!

Interior
Black vinyl with some stitching, thin chrome accenting and all in pristine black vinyl panels makes the top of the door panels. Moving inside are nice near showroom condition low back buckets also in black vinyl and these have some tuck and roll inserts surrounded by wide white stripes to separate the smooth vinyl bolsters. In back, a black vinyl styled to the front buckets rear 2 plus 2 bench is in and also looking great! The floors are flooded in black carpeting, lightly faded but unsoiled and sporting Camaro embroidered covering floor mats. The dash has been modernized with a new white faced Autometer gauge cluster. This is flanked by the original configuration side panels with knobs, pulls and the ignition. In the center is a neatly mounted aftermarket vintage styled radio with bowtie logo, and it's an AM/FM/Cassette player and temp sliders just above. Shiny black metal is the dash front, and on top is a smattering of padded black vinyl which shows no cracks or errors. Also noted is a large central storage console now on and housing the Hurst shifter.

Drivetrain
Under the hood is now a replacement 327ci V8, all neatly painted in red/orange GM block, but with plenty of polished bolt ons and valve coverings. On top, a new 4 barrel carburetor is now in, and on back a Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission pushing power easily rearward through a 10 bolt rear. Our consignor notes the addition of new valve cover gaskets, a new electronic distributor, and a new Blaster coil.

Undercarriage
Underneath looks as though it just left the showroom with pristine black unibody construction which seamlessly melts into the floor pans and rockers and is peppered with shiny exhaust snaking its way through all the undercarriage components. Some include independent coil over front suspension, leaf springs for the back and power disc brakes upfront and power drums on back. Headers with newgaskets feed spentfossils to a stainless steel Magnaflow muffler and we see a new fuel tank is on too.

Drive-Ability
This car fires up with barely a turn of the ignition, and idles like it's ready to be unleashed. So I did so no holds barred out to the test track where it performed beautifully. Head snapping acceleration, good rail like handling, and power bias free stopping. The headlight covers needed to be closed manually, but also else was working just fab!

All is just peachy with this plumb colored racing striped white convertible 'cherry" condition car. A strong power plant, great classic interior look with newly configured dash, and nice undercarriage. The 1967 RS never looked so tasty, so go ahead stick your thumb in this one, and maybe you too can say what a good boy am I!
