Lincoln's 5th generation Continental was luxury at it's finest.
Powered by the massive 460 V8 engine, this generation would turn
out to be the most popular of all. In fact, as early as 1977, when
Cadillacs started downsizing, sales of vehicles produced by Ford's
upmarket banner surpassed those of GM's luxury brand for the first
time. Lincoln continued to produce its grand dame until 1979,
making it the last survivor of the genre. That year, sales peaked.
but new U.S. government emissions regulations forced the automaker
to reduce the size and weight of its flagship model.
The Lincoln presented at auction has been owned by a single
extended family since new. It is in very good original condition
inside and out with low miles showing on the odometer. The miles
are believed to be original, but not confirmed. Sitting on custom
spoke wheels the car has a good look. This Lincoln will make an
excellent addition to any garage!
