Z/28's (1967-1969) were developed as homologation ringers for the
SCCA's Trans Am race series. Chevrolet didn't even bother with a
catchy name for the special package, instead using its RPO code
Z/28. But by the time that the legendary duo of Rodger Penske and
Mark Donohue had won their second Trans Am title in 1969, the Z/28
had a fierce reputation and a growing number of loyal fans that
would keep the name alive after the racing had waned. This stunning
LeMans Blue (71) 1969 Chevrolet Z/28 with the Rally Sport package
(X33) is without question the most beautiful '69 Z/28 that I have
seen. The unusual and correct colors, including the
Black/Houndstooth upholstery (713), complement the car perfectly.
Beneath the correct and functional scooped hood is the legendary DZ
302 V8 (BCN 3932386, BCD L 2 8, EC V1209DZ), the little engine that
COULD! This particular block is unusual in that it was only used
between August of 1968 until about January of 1969. Additional
features include power front disc brakes (J50, J52), Muncie M20
4-speed manual transmission (A), HD Posi 4.10:1 COPO rear end (BE),
console with special instruments package, wood-grained steering
wheel, and Goodyear Polyglas F70-15 tires on rally wheels.
Documentation includes original Protect-O Plate and owner's manual.
