Vehicle Description
This 1955 Ford Crown Victoria Skyliner was purchased in 1985 and
was completely restored about 15 years ago. The body was completely
submerged and metal stripped, then sprayed with etching primer
inside and out. The vehicle was rotisserie mounted and received
body repairs before it was sprayed a two-tone black with Tropical
Rose paint. The interior is color-matched to the exterior and
includes a split bench front seat. During the restoration, the
front end was rebuilt and power steering was added. This Ford is
powered by a rebuilt 292ci V8 engine with a Stromberg
triple-carburetor setup mated to a 3-speed manual transmission. All
bearings and seals were replaced throughout the drivetrain. After
the restoration was complete, this vehicle was entered into the
Crown Victoria National Convention in Maryland, where it won First
Place in its class.
