Vehicle Description
This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS custom convertible is powered by a
6.2-liter V8 engine paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission.
The engine is a true LSX block bored out to 440ci and is equipped
with a fully forged rotating assembly. It is outfitted with a
Callies DragonSlayer crankshaft, Callies Compstar rods with ARP2000
bolts, custom-spec Wiseco pistons, 6-bolt Trick Flow cylinder
heads, Hooker long-tube silver ceramic-coated headers, a 3-inch
stainless-steel exhaust and stainless-steel performance MagnaFlow
mufflers, along with a Detroit Speed stainless-steel gas tank.
Accessorizing the engine bay are Rab Performance polished front
accessories, a Holley intake with a matching Holley oil pan, valve
covers, and a Terminator X EFI harness and computer. It also
features a polished aluminum radiator with dual SPAL fans and
Vintage Air equipment. Pushing the Camaro in drive and reverse is
the Stage 3 custom-built transmission with a billet input shaft,
rollerized billet forward hub, hardened clutches, a mild shift kit
and a custom-built billet 3200-stall TCI torque converter with the
correct stator matched to the engine. This Camaro's subframe was
powder-coated gloss black and the underside of the car was
Raptor-lined. It is equipped with tubular controls arms installed
in the front with large 6-piston Wilwood brakes, double adjustable
coilovers and a CPP quick-ratio power steering gearbox. The rear
features a shortened 12-bolt rear axle with matching large 4-piston
brakes and an emergency brake option. Paint has been laid using a
PPG base coat/clear coat, and it is finished in dark metallic blue
exterior color with a bright silver SS stripe. Polished
Ringbrothers exterior door handles and mirrors complement the blend
of colors that not only match the exterior paint, but also the
wheels, brake calipers and interior. The TMI interior door panels
and front bucket seats are wrapped in a slightly lighter exterior
tone color that complements the powered blue convertible top,
chrome infrastructure and blue suede headliner. The rear seat
follows custom upholstery that matches the front, with the polished
Billet Specialties steering wheel wrapped in the same blue leather
as the seats. It has received electric AutoMeter gauges in an
aftermarket color-matched bezel, as well as an original-style floor
shifter with the factory console. The aftermarket
original-appearance radio features Bluetooth, Sirus XM and standard
radio stations. Its power windows are supplied from Nu-Relics with
factory-appearance chrome switches for front and rear power window
operation. Additional modifications to this vehicle include new
quarter-panels, a Detroit Speed mini-tub kit, subframe connectors
and a rear shock bar. It rides on custom 3-piece color-matched
wheels wrapped in 285/30/20R tires with a 6-inch offset in the back
and 235/35/20R tires with a 2.5-inch offset in the front and
12-point hardware. ** PREVIEW
