This 1986 GMC Jimmy custom SUV is the product of a professional
nut-and-bolt, frame-off restoration by premier builder Special
Blend Motor Garage of Farr West, UT. The restoration took more than
2,000 labor hours to complete. It is a fresh, retro-modern build
that was finished in December 2022 and has been driven 200 tuning
miles since completion. The 525hp Chevy Orange powerplant is
composed of a Texas Speed forged internals 6.2-liter GM LS3 engine
with a BTR Truck Norris camshaft, FAST LSXR intake, Holley fuel
injection and DeatschWerks injectors trimmed with a Holley
accessory drive and vintage coil covers. The engine features a
stainless-steel Borla dual exhaust and is mated to a built 6L80E
6-speed automatic transmission delivering power to all four wheels
via a GM NP261 manual transfer case. This GMC sits atop a modern GM
chassis equipped with modern GM factory independent front
suspension and a 4-link rear with a BDS-Fox 4-inch lift and Fox DSC
adjustable coilovers, and also has rack & pinion steering. This
vehicle rides on AMP Terrain Attack MT/A tires, with Mayhem Voyager
dark bronze wheels, and is brought to a halt by Wilwood
Hydro-Boosted 6-piston slotted and drilled disc brakes. Attention
to detail is shown with a Dakota Digital cluster, rearview backup
camera and cruise control. A military spec Techflex woven wrap
looms the American Autowire body harness and ECM harness, with
Deutsch connectors throughout. The brake lines and hardware
fasteners are completely composed of stainless steel, with a modern
GM factory fuel cell and tow package. The original steel of this
GMC was in rust-free condition prior to the restoration. The
chassis, entire body and undercarriage were media-blasted, then
coated in PPG corrosion-resistant epoxy. U-Pol Raptor bedliner
coats the frame and undercarriage to prevent future corrosion. This
Jimmy has been professionally body-worked and finished in BASF
two-tone Midnight Blue Metallic and Olympic White. The Relicate
leather finishes off the interior with GMC luxury class.
Triple-layer, wall-to-wall sound-deadening and heat-shielding allow
the Restomod Air system to keep everything cold, while a Kenwood
JBL RetroSound audio system pipes full sound throughout the cabin.
An SBMG-designed center jump seat conceals a tech hub console to
keep gear charged and organized. ** PREVIEW
