For Sale: 1964 AMC Rambler in Mooresville, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

HIGHLIGHTS: Funky mild custom Rambler! Great base for a unique project! 287 Rambler V8 with automatic transmission! Power brakes and steering! Cool project car!

BODY OVERVIEW: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and the body on this Rambler will take some enthusiasts a few moments to appreciate. This car appears to have never received a full restoration, but it looks to have been customized around the late 1980s or early 1990s. Some patches have been performed on the floor pans as can be seen in the photos, and there is still some rust present. This car should be considered a candidate for either a full or ratty restoration.

PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: Much like the body, the paint is certainly showing its age. This is not the original paint, and is likely a 20+ year old respray. This car appears to have originally been blue. Make no mistake, this car could be enjoyed as is, but the paint is best suited for use on an affordable classic driver.

INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: The interior looks to be the same age as the rest of the custom touches this vehicle has received, and is beginning to show its age. The carpet appears to be original, and the seats have been redone in a mild custom fashion. It is very unique, and goes with the theme of the car. Whether this is to your tastes or not, the interior is largely complete, which can be a big deal on uncommon vehicles like this.

MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: Under the hood, this car shows signs of maintenance in recent years. This vehicle comes with receipts in the amount of $2,608 dating back to 2015. The engine bay is showing some age, and the owner states the engine was rebuilt within the last five years. There are various leaks and cosmetic imperfections, however the engine does run very smoothly. With a few tweaks, this Rambler could likely be made into a cruiser.

WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: It's unique!

WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: It's unique.

DOES IT NEED ANYTHING? This car has had a lot of work done to it over the years, but it is not quite there yet. Please reference the photos and the Does It Work? list below. Although this car does run and drive, it should be considered a project car.
