Vehicle Description
Beautifully original BJ8 in excellent condition, lookin' good in
its original red and accented with flashy chrome 60-spoke wire
wheels. Out of a twenty-year ownership, during which it had
respectful detailing touchups done to bring the engine bay to show
level authenticity while the black leather seats are still
original.
Improvements over the years included new carpeting, replacing the
wood veneer dash panels with OEM new ones, door cards and new
bumpers & overriders. It was fitted with a full stainless-steel
OEM-style exhaust system and just recently had the carbs
rebuilt.
The car runs great-even the overdrive works!-and is great fun to
drive. Unlike many period British sports cars, the Mk III has
roll-up glass windows for real convenience. It was repainted in its
original red over twenty years ago and the finish still looks
great-and no rust has ever been found in the car.
Many of these roadsters had well-meaning, but amateur maintenance
and 'restoration' over the years, so one that looks like it just
drove out of the late 1960s is a rare treat. Big Healeys enjoyed a
market run-up a few years ago, but now have settled in a very
attractive price point, with long term appreciation quite
likely.
