Vehicle Description
1957 Pontiac Chieftain Sedan. The original 347 Pontiac has been
upgraded to a 370 Pontiac performance engine that came out of a '58
Pontiac. At the time, it was carefully painted/detailed to match
the engine from 1957 for a seamless look. This gives the car more
horsepower etc. This underwent a full restoration in California
sometime around 2004 and remains in exceptionally well-cared for
condition. Black finish is beautiful. Alot of care went into the
paint, fit & finish for a really nice look. All the chrome and
brightwork is complete. It has been re-chromed or replaced with new
and gleams flawlessly. The fender monitor lamps illuminate
correctly with the headlights on. No missing trim. Panels are all
straight & rust-free. I'd characterize the paint as a strong 9 out
of 10 for quality. All glass is clean with no stone chips or
damage. Tires are the correct whitewall size from Coker Tire.
Vehicle starts easily, runs well and can go any distance. It has an
accessory locking gas cap with key. The suspension is all original
in good condition. No known issues. The tires are excellent, but
aged (over the 5-year mark) for suggested replacement---They are
otherwise fine. Engine bay is clean. No leaks. It has had a new
fuel pump & battery in the last 2 years. Lt & Rt Qtrs. have paint
imperfections near the tail lamps. They have never gotten worse in
our ownership and do not detract from its otherwise very classy
appearance. The gear selector is slightly off and could stand to be
adjusted if this is important to the buyer. Please Note The
