For Sale: 1972 Chevrolet Camaro in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

#s matching, born like you see it. Documented with original build sheet. It was frame off, rotisserie restored in 2015. Only 1,193 miles since completed. It's an extremely rare car- only 2,575 Z-28s were made total. Only an estimated 16% of the Camaros were Rally Sports. Only 767 Camaros total had an M-22 Rock Crusher trans. EXTERIOR: Very desirable Rally Sport which includes the extended grill, split bumper and reconfigured lights. Show quality fit and finish. Every panel is straight and fits right. No rust or damage. Repainted its original Pewter Metallic color. It's better than new! It's laid out evenly and polished like glass. The stripes are smooth to the touch. All the chrome and trim is excellent. Restored correct wheels are wrapped in reproduction Wide Oval tires. Weatherstrips and seals were replaced.

INTERIOR: It is completely restored. The carpet is excellent, it has full set of original seatbelts. The dash area is mint. It has the full set of factory gauges including the 6,500 red line tachometer unique to a Z. It also has a working factory AM-FM radio. The door panels and plastic trim is all excellent. The seats have great cushion, the original upholstery is in great shape. There is some splitting at the seams on the driver seat. The headliner is tight as a drum, matching visors. The dome light works.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The engine compartment is restored to show quality factory condition. The #s matching 350 has correct casting dates and stamped codes. Correct GM aluminum intake and Holley carb. Stock air cleaner, valve covers, exhaust manifolds, deep groove pulleys, dated plug wires etc. Radiator, shroud, fan, overflow bottle is all proper. It has reproduction hoses and clamps. Cadmium plated power brake booster. All the metal surfaces are painted smoothly, it has hood insulation.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It's restored like factory new. Clean solid metal with a neat spatter finish. Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted to match the car. The weatherstrip and mat have been replaced. It has a complete spare and jack assembly. Reproduction Firestone Wide Oval tire has never been used is on a restored wheel. Jack assembly looks like new.

UNDERSIDE: The body was lifted off the frame and every component was removed. The shell was then flipped on a rotisserie. It is clean rust-free metal, it was prepped and painted semi-gloss black. Every component was restored. It has the F-41 heavy duty suspension which has been completely rebuilt. The steering was rebuilt. The brake system has been restored, it has disc in front, e-brake assembly is hooked up. It has a correct Gardner dual exhaust with the transverse muffler and polished tailpipes. The fuel system has been replaced. Looking up at the motor it is spotless Chevy Orange, the starter looks fresh. It has a Vin number matching M-22 Rock Crusher 4-speed. This is an extremely rare option. It's been gone through. The drive shaft was replaced. It has a 10 bolt rear end with 3.73 posi gears.

Service: We inspected the car and adjusted the choke, repaired amp gauge, replaced the horns, R&R swaybars to lube and repositioned tailpipes.
