I am proud to offer for sale this gorgeous, all #’s matching 1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator 428 Cobra Jet with Ram Air. It is the last Eliminator in my collection and I saved the best for last.
Not only does this gorgeous 70 Cougar retain all but one fender of its original sheet metal and its all numbers matching drivetrain, but it also includes the original Eminger report and two build sheets,along with a Marti report and a reproduction window sticker.
Finished in its original Competition Blue with B\W houndstooth interior, this beautiful Cougar was built on Dec. 11 1969 as a custom order and sold new on Dec. 19 1969 right here in Utah where it has remained its entire life.
When you open the drivers door, you will find an 100% original interior with exception to the drivers seat bottom, which was replaced with factory correct black/white houndstooth material. Other features include deluxe interior package,woodgrain steering wheel, woodgrain center console, remote drivers mirror, black lap & shoulder seat belts, rear bench seat also in houndstooth and black carpeting front to back. It doesn’t get much better than that.
Now for the heart of this Big Cat
Pop open the hood, and sitting inside the engine bay is the original #’s matching 428CJ with Ram Air, which covers the original Holley carb. The motor is linked to the original #’s matching C-6 Select shift Cruise-O-Matic transmission which feeds power to the original 3.50 traction-lok rear end. It also retains the original exhaust system minus replacement mufflers. She fires up and runs, drives and performs in every way.
I am the 3rd owner of this exceptional car. It was meticulously restored in 1991. While at a car show it caught the eye of SuperFord magazine. It later graced the cover and had a write up in the March 1992 issue. It also won 1st place at the Cougars Nationals. It still turns heads everywhere we show it. Contact me with further questions
