For Sale: 1963 Chrysler 300 in Mesa, Arizona

Vehicle Description

This 1963 Chrysler 300 Convertible Pace Setter is about delivering rarity, distinction, and true top-down cruiser style. So take some extra time to realize the fun this rare V8 Mopar offers.

The 300 Series cars from Chrysler carried some of the most distinctive sheet metal of the era. It's in the details, like how the creases in the body are highlighted by the trim. In fact, we just love how the line outlining the grille zooms up the hood and wraps around the passenger compartment. It's part of a very clean and complete package that this one represents. The 0 in holding the second place in the VIN signals this is an official pace car replica. So this earns the full decal billboard package on the side. It looks quite nice against the metallic blue paint that was special to these pace cars. Even the white convertible top harmonizes nicely. What we love about Mopars is also their rarity. We could consider the official pace car replicas a popular model, and yet, there were still less than 1900 produced. To put that into the perspective of this era, Cadillac produced nearly nine times more of the significantly more expensive Series 62 convertible in the same year. So there's a feeling that this will likely be the only one to show up to car & coffee (and may even be a solo sight at many Mopar events, too!) So since it's distinct, we like the cruiser-ready attitude that lets you take it out on the weekends and share its uniqueness with the world.

Beneath the power folding top is a stylish white interior. It looks attractive while still giving you the driver-ready style that makes it easy to share this large drop-top with family and friends This is a terrific vintage luxury machine that has some impressive classic details. The courtesy lights greet you when the door opens, the stock AM radio is still on display, and the center console compass is still working (so it feels like 1960s sat nav.) Even the steering wheel is a unique setup where it's not the squared version you got on the letter-series cars, and instead, an asymmetrical design with the driver and gauges in mind. And speaking of the driver, the front bucket seats, sporty round gauges, and push-button transmission really made you feel like you were driving distinction.

Chrysler's 383 cubic-inch V8 was their bedrock for the muscle car generation, and so it has the right torque to keep this 300 convertible cruising with ease. In fact, you know this one was made for the boulevards with features like power steering, power brakes, and a TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission. There are even newer touring tires on the upgraded Vision 15-inch wheels.

The sale comes complete with the owner's manual, maintenance records, sales literature, and stock wheel covers. This Chrysler's driver-quality attitude is reflected in the affordable price for this kind of drop-top classic. So you could certainly upgrade/update the body, motor, or other details to your liking. But we especially like the way that something so rare and distinct is also particularly easy to enjoy without getting too nervous about the open road. That's why this deal is irresistible.
