Intro
This is a 2012 BMW Alpina B7. It began as a short wheelbase BMW 750i. Alpina added larger turbos and higher-capacity cooling and extracts 500 hp from the 4.4-liter engine. The transmission, brake system and suspension also receive an upgrade. Outside, signature Alpina design cues include front and rear spoilers and 21-inch classic Alpina wheels. This a 4-owner car originally registered in California and North Carolina with 143,215 miles and huge stack of service records.
Exterior
This Alpina B7 is Black Sapphire metallic with sunroof and signature Alpina front and rear spoilers with 21-inch Alpina style wheels. The Carfax shows a "very minor" front incident in 2012. The front bumper and bonnet were resprayed by previous owner due to rock chips. The driver’s door soft close lock actuator was replaced as well as upper door seal, new OEM headlight and fog light assemblies, new passenger side rear view mirror, and refinished all four wheels with new Alpina center caps. Recent detail and paint correction and GTECH Crystal Serum Light 5 ceramic coating.
Interior
The multicontour power front seats ensure comfort with an interior upholstered in supple black leather. The B7 adds tasteful Alpina badging with classic Piano Black trim and Alcantara headliner. Blue backlit gauges and illuminated scuff plates further add to the Alpina's unique character. Alpina B7's interior matches the heady mix of executive-class luxury, comfort and cutting-edge technology found in the BMW 7 Series. The seller replaced all the cabin air filters and refreshed interior buttons and trim.
Mechanicals
Alpina added larger turbos and higher-capacity cooling and extracts 500 hp from the 4.4-liter v8 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and rear wheel drive. The seller completed a very extensive service in March of 2023 of over 43 items ranging from minor to major repairs totaling over $44k. Please see the service invoice and history in photos.
Known Flaws
The rear window sunshade needs a helping hand to retract.
The rear trunk spoiler paint is faded.
There are some cracks in the rear bumper paint.
Minor scratches are noted on the right front fender well.
Summary
This 2012 BMW Alpina B7 has 143,215 miles and has been well maintained with a stack of service records since new. In March of 2023 it had a very extensive service of over $44k to address every known issue. Apart from the rear window sunshade all the known flaws are cosmetic and not mechanical. This B7 was restored to a high level so the next owner would not have to worry about any major repairs and just perform regular maintenance. The common issues have been resolved and few tweaks done to prevent them from arising again like the lower temp thermostat and Cerakote of exhaust parts.
