This 2004 Mercedes-Benz CLK55 AMG Convertible is a custom, loaded,
and luxury machine that also happens to have a hand-crafted 360+
horsepower V8 under the hood. So you're going to love a total

We all know true AMG cars are speedy machines, and the CLK55 was
known for being one of the quickest Benzs of its day. But where the
factory car was a bit of an incognito rocket ship, this one was
given solid investment to make it a true power car. It starts with
a full body kit that upgrades the style to look like the hardcore
Black series. That means widely flared fenders, flared rockers,
plenty of fender vents, and a sporty rear valance. The paint was
upgraded about a year ago to one of the coolest colors to come out
of Germany: Audi's Nardo Gray. Not only does it make the car look
as strong as cement, but it also helps to highlight the
well-coordinated dark elements. This includes the blackout grille,
smoked tail lamps, black rear valance, and rear spoiler. And when
you're fully buttoned up, the black roof and tinted windows make
all the black look almost like a two-tone style against the gray.
Plus, the upgraded 20-inch HRE wheels add to the dark style and do
a terrific job of filling the larger wheel wells.
The black leather interior means this has a stylish color
combination with the roof on or off. The odometer is believed to
reflect the full mileage, but the condition of everything reminds
you that a high-end Mercedes-Benz gets treated with quality care.
In fact, there was even a solid investment in new leather for the
special AMG bucket seats. It's loaded with the best features, like
power windows, dual front airbags, side airbags, ABS, cruise
control, and power front seats. The top is a nicely insulated unit,
and when you take it down, automatic A/C climate control allows you
to still keep the ideal temperature. Even the rear seats are quite
handy and have rear vents to keep everyone comfortable. Plus,
there's an upgraded touchscreen infotainment system that runs the
stereo, Bluetooth, and backup camera. And as proper AMG, you get
the feeling of a superior driver's car. It's in the details like
the power adjusting steering column, paddle shifters on the sports
steering wheel, and a terrific set of white-faced gauges.
The CLK55 is a true German-style muscle car. They took the largest
engine in the larger E-class and put it in the lighter CLK. And
because this is a true AMG car, the 5.4-liter V8 is a hand-crafted
powerhouse built by a true professional technician (they even leave
their personal stamp right on top of the motor to prove it!) This
fuel-injected motor made 362 horsepower from the factory, and we
bet the upgraded exhaust system releases even more ponies. The
five-speed transmission offers paddle shifts for total control, or
you can just let the automatic do it for you with easy overdrive
comfort. AMG specially tunes the fully-independent suspension for
performance, but this also never loses the luxurious Mercedes feel.
Add in power steering, four-wheel power disc brakes, and
performance tires, and this is the kind of confident sports car
that makes an AMG worth every penny.
