Vehicle Description
Model year 1969 was a banner year for General Motors and Chevrolet
in particular. From the Camaro to the Corvette, and across the
mid-size Chevelle and full-size car lines, styling and performance
was at its peak. If you were in the market for a comfortable,
styling, and sporty full-size convertible in 1969, you could really
do no better than Chevrolet's Impala SS 427. This particular 69'
427 SS presents beautifully in Tuxedo black with matching black
vinyl interior and black power convertible cloth top. The
combination of black paint and big chrome bumpers and accents makes
this a classy automobile also. Red 427 emblems and a tasteful red
pin stripe help to break up the visual expanse of sheet metal.
Classic fifteen-inch Chevrolet Rallye wheels with polished trim
rings and caps are wrapped in BFGoodrich T/A black wall tires. If
ever a vehicle cried out for a sweet set of classic redline tires,
this is it! The SS 427 package as new included the 427 big block
V-8, red stripe tires, 15 wheels, heavy duty suspension, black
accented grille, and SS identification on the grille, fenders, and
decklid. The bumper protectors found on this vehicle were an
optional extra along with the passenger outside mirror. Inside this
amazing Impala you will find a very spacious and immensely
comfortable cabin. The front Strato-bucket seats and rear bench are
wrapped in acres of black vinyl, wood grain adorns the dash and
door panels, chrome pedal trim, and the full-length center console
has that cool aircraft inspired shift handle for the automatic
transmission. A full array of warning lights stretches out across
the instrument cluster, along with a full-length speedometer,
electric clock, and fuel gauge. To the left of the steering wheel,
you will find the heating and ventilation controls, wiper control,
and headlight switch. On the right is the classic optional extra
AM/FM radio that has been updated to replace the original
transistor driven unit. A tilt steering column makes for easy
ingress, while front and rear lap style seat belts keep you in
place when the driving becomes exciting. And exciting it will be,
as this Impala has a 454CI big block Chevrolet V-8 under the hood
replacing he original 427 unit. This monster engine has also
received a full serpentine belt drive set up, MSD ignition,
Edelbrock aluminum intake with Holley Street Avenger carburetor,
long tube headers, and a full dual exhaust system help that big V-8
breathe. All this power is routed through a smooth shifting four
speed Turbo Hydra-Matic transmission and on to a stout GM 12-bolt
rear axle. Front power disc brakes and heavy-duty springs help to
keep things under control at all times. This Impala is in great
condition, looks amazing, and drives like you're riding on a big
block Chevy powered cloud. You can take friends to the car show or
