Vehicle Description
With a cool color combo, even cooler vintage droptop attitude, and
cold-blowing air conditioning, this 1963 Ford Falcon Futura
Convertible is a great classic worth plenty of attention.
The maroon paint looks good on this convertible. The color is
deeper than red to give you an added sophistication, and there's a
metallic element that adds to the premium shine. The finish is a
few years old, but it still looks quite attractive, especially when
the sunshine is radiating off of this convertible. The tan folding
top looks good, fits snugly, and is the kind of complementary color
that adds to the alluring style. Plus, the brightwork is clean and
complete in all the right places, including the hood scoop trim,
full-width grille, dual ornaments, classy wire wheel covers, around
the rocket-inspired tail lights, and on the arrow-like Futura side
trim. There was even a more recent investment in re-chroming the
bumpers to really get that classic American cruiser style
right.
While the tan top is stylish against the maroon paint, it powers
down to reveal an even more comprehensive maroon and tan color
theme inside. It's quite inviting with clean upholstery, newer
carpeting, and a smooth dash. There are also terrific classic
details everywhere from the bright trim to the AM radio that's
there for display. And this is built to be a driver's classic with
front bucket seats, a center console in-between, and an upgraded
grippy woodgrain steering wheel. And since the upgraded R134a air
conditioning is blowing nice and cold, you can enjoy top-down
motoring long into the summer.
The engine bay has quite an attractive style. The gloss-painted
inner walls let the exterior-matching maroon metallic radiate on
the valve cover and air grabber. This is Ford's 200 cubic-inch
motor. It's larger than the inline-six powerhouses offered in the
Falcon's first generation but the upgrade still fits nicely here.
It's said to have been comprehensively rebuilt and that feeling is
supported by newer main components like the carburetor, fuel pump,
gas tank, water pump, and starter. It makes for a robust powerhouse
and a confident cruiser. There are even nice driving features like
a three-speed automatic transmission and upgraded front disc brakes
with drilled and slotted rotors.
