Vehicle Description
Available now is one of the rare 1968 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruisers
Hard Top. This one is finished in a brown color scheme with a white
top and sits on 17 inch Moto Metal wheels wrapped in 285/70/17
Nitto offroad tires with the rear mounted spare. Comes equipped
with ARB front bumper, snorkel kit, side mounted off road jack, and
rear mounted jerry can and mount. The interior is finished in the
body color brown with refinished peanut butter on front and rear
seats. The Land Cruiser is powered by the 3.9L inline six cylinder
engine mated to a 3-speed manual gear box column shift. The FJ came
to us from Florida and the underneath of the vehicle is in
excellent condition. The body is certainly not perfect and has
several dings and paint imperfections with some rust on the lower
part of the cab as you will see in the pictures. The FJ starts up
and runs well and would be a perfect option for those looking for a
classic Toyota 4x4 to either finish restoration or utilize as an
offroad vehicle. More information on the 1968 Model Year Toyota FJ:
The Toyota FJ40 is a four-wheel-drive, off-road vehicle produced by
Toyota from 1960 to 1984. The FJ40 is a model of the Land Cruiser
series of vehicles, which are renowned for their durability and
off-road capabilities. In 1968, the Toyota FJ40 was in its eighth
year of production, and it received several updates that year. One
of the most significant updates was the addition of a 3.9-liter
inline-six engine, which produced 125 horsepower and 209 lb-ft of
torque. This engine replaced the previous 3.8-liter inline-six, and
it was coupled with a three-speed manual transmission. Other
updates for the 1968 model year included a new instrument panel and
a redesigned grille, as well as minor changes to the interior and
exterior. The FJ40 also featured a rugged, body-on-frame
construction and a part-time four-wheel-drive system, which made it
well-suited for off-road use. The FJ40 has since become a classic
off-road vehicle and is highly sought after by collectors and
off-road enthusiasts. Its durability, reliability, and simple
mechanical design have made it a favorite among those who enjoy
exploring rugged terrain.
