Vehicle Description
1964 Chevrolet Impala SS - Beautifully Restored - 283ci V8 - Power
Glide Automatic Transmission - Air Conditioning - 60k Miles Shown -
White Exterior - White and Blue Interior The 1964 Impala has become
a staple in a number of different sections of car culture, and has
cemented its place in pop culture. There is just something about
the look of a 1964 Impala that is easy on the eyes. In the form of
the Impala SS, the Impala was one of the first muscle cars when
Chevrolet offered the large displacement 409ci V8 and stylized SS
badges on the fenders. As we've seen in car culture, the '64 Impala
is perfect for so many enthusiasts, a convertible option was
offered, the trunk is large and perfect for hydraulics systems or
fuel cells, and whatever style Impala you're into, the interior is
spacious and stylish. The 1964 Impala, known by some as a six-four,
seems to be one of the most desirable year Impalas thanks to the
handsome styling and the engine options offered at the time. This
particular Impala is a beautiful example, which is sure to turn
some heads as it glides down the road. The car you are looking at
is a 1964 Chevrolet Impala finished in White over a two tone
interior, and offering a Powerglide transmission paired with a
283ci V8. The car's VIN contains 1447 as the second through the
fifth digits, which denotes a V8 powered, 2 Door Impala SS. Yes,
even without the top of the line 409 engine, you could get a true
SS that had a smaller engine. This car is finished in White, which
has a nice finish and appears to have been professionally applied.
What might be considered somewhat elaborate trim can be found in
beautiful condition on the exterior. Chrome strips with engine
turned inserts flow across the body, scalloped chrome rocker panel
trim adds some contrast, and chrome bumpers cap off the front and
rear of the car. Of course the '64 Impalas are known for the three
tail light treatment on either side of the car which is framed by
the upper chrome and engine turned trim piece just above. The
unmistakable Chevrolet script and logo, and the pair of antennas
which sit on the rear quarter panels are other exterior highlights
of this car. Slide behind the large two-tone steering wheel of this
Impala and you're treated with a birds eye view of the simple,
flowing dashboard. A sweeping speedometer, faux -engine turned
trim, a radio, and a few switches take pride of place on the aqua
colored dashboard. A modern Kenwood stereo sits just above the
point that the center console makes its way toward the pair of
bucket seats away from the firewall. The interior is very well kept
offering cream colored bucket seats with matching lap belts, aqua
carpeting and rear parcel shelf trim, cream colored headliner, and
the iconic Impala logo in the middle of the rear seat. Under the
hood is the 283ci V8 mated to a powerglide transmission which is
said to produce 195 horsepower in factory form. Notable items in
the engine bay are air conditioning components, power steering,
orange painted engine, and an air cleaner that wears a 283ci V8
sticker. The underside of the car is well kept, with the x-frame,
dual exhaust, and drum brakes visible. No matter the section of car
culture that you're interested in, you can see the USA in this
Chevrolet. This Impala is a beautiful example of an iconic car
which many people appreciate. Please call if interested or e-mail
with specific questions. Thanks for looking!
