This decommissioned aircraft tug from the Santa Rosa, California Airport has a rich history and spent its life in NorCal.
It's a numbers-matching, 1947 Dodge WC 1/2 ton truck with lots of originality. The original rebuilt engine is still in the chassis, serial number: T112⭐️144397⭐️ 218 cu in flathead.
The truck was made in the Los Angeles Dodge production plant for the 1947 model year, which was the last year for this style of truck. The 1947 model in LA started with serial number 9221276 and ended up with 9225013, about 3,737 of these were made. The serial number for this truck is 9222091—one of the last trucks to roll off the assembly line post-war with a pre-war body style.
Original 3-speed manual transmission (on the floor) is "Job Rated" and granny geared to pull airplanes. This truck has an Art Deco body style with lots of patina. Wood bed, adjustable bench seat, and recently refinished interior including the new headliner. 12-volt electrical system with alternator, yellow top Optima battery, LED color ground running lights, modern in-dash gauges, and a new gas tank. The keychain even has an original coin found under the seat from the late 40's.
