Launched in 1986, the BMW M3 was the most powerful 3-Series BMW had
ever built and was developed by BMW's Motorsport division for DTM
and FIA Group A racing. While based on the E30 chassis, the M3
shared few parts with the standard model. On the outside, BMW added
a larger rear spoiler, a deep front splitter, and muscular
flared-wheel arches. The heart of the M3 was the S14 DOHC
2.3-liter, four-cylinder, 16-valve engine with individual throttle
bodies, and Bosch Motronic fuel management. Mated to a Getrag
five-speed gearbox, the high-revving motor developed 192 hp at
6,750 rpm in US-specification trim. Suspension tuning and braking
systems were likewise updated and improved for the M3's overtly
more sporting mission.
This 1990 BMW M3 is finished in Sterling Silver over a black
leather upholstery, and according to Vehicle History Reports,
remained in California between 1993 and 2012. Seemingly driven
regularly, it accrued the majority of its recorded mileage by 2005.
This particular M3 was known and well maintained within Rudy
Mancinas' collection of predominantly BMW and Porsche automobiles
since late 2017 and presents very well in largely original
specification and condition. The driver side front fender has a bmw
dot-r sticker indicating a certified replacement. All other factory
VIN stickers are located throughout and pictured.
In November 2022, the BMW would receive an inspection and
comprehensive major service by Bennett Motor Werks in Dallas,
Texas. Work included installation of Hella headlamps, new spark
plugs, engine oil and filter, adjust valve clearances + new valve
cover gasket, clean fuel injectors, replace coolant, lubricate
joints and hinges, new window switch, inspect electrical system.
Over $4,400 invested. A follow up 2023 extensive dry ice detailing
then brought this already fantastic E30 to the next level of
presentation.
Accompanied by Books, Tools, Jack, Spare, 'BMW M3' Euro Plate,
CARFAX and AutoCheck Vehicle History Reports, here is an excellent
opportunity to acquire an honest and iconic M3 of increasingly
collectability from our Houston, Texas showroom.
