Vehicle Description
This 1996 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 is an awesome driver's car. It's not
just the cool color for the T-tops that make it so desirable
because as you dig into the details, you'll see a big investment in
the motor and suspension that makes for one of the most awesome 4th
gen setups. And the best part is how affordable the sharp and
speedy Z-car is.
Medium Quasar Metallic is an excellent color of distinction. It's
for those who don't want red or black but want to look aggressive.
This car is meant for driving, so you wouldn't consider it a museum
piece. But with a nice respray and averaging about 2600 miles
annually, the full package has a sleek and attractive fit and
finish. Those who know these Camaros immediately pick up on the SS
upgrades. The hood scoop, wheels, and rear wing are all Super Sport
designs. We'd say they improved on them because the hood is
lightweight fiberglass, and the five-spoke alloys have a polished
shine. And those large quad exhaust tips are there to ensure
everyone knows it can even go beyond SS status.
The interior is a nice mix of comfort, features, and a driver-ready
attitude. It's loaded with the best features like a premium
AM/FM/CD stereo from Bose, power windows, power locks, dual
airbags, a cup holder center console, and the iconic T-tops that
open you up to the world. There's the kind of wear you'd expect
after a quarter-century, and the value price certainly will leave
room in your budget if you're looking to upgrade/restore. But we
doubt you want this because you're looking for a coddler. Instead,
this Camaro does a great job of being a driver's machine. That
means your well-bolstered seat power adjusts to the ideal driving
position, and a tilt column gives you a clear view of the crisp
full gauge package.
We love the GM's 5.7-liter LT1 V8 because it gives you the same
tradition of hardiness as the classic small block but for the
modern fuel-injected era. So it loves upgrades, and this one
certainly has it. The ignition system has been upgraded with a
Torquehead 24x coil on plug LS PCM conversion, which means the
engine no longer runs the factory Optispark. Other upgrades include
the Lloyd Elliot LE2 heads, a BBK 58mm throttle body, a Comp Cams
CC503 camshaft, Comp Cams Ultra Pro Magnum 1.6 roller rockers, Tick
performance custom length pushrods, Trick Flow guide plates, a
heavy-duty timing set, and a Summit Racing electric water pump.
This enhanced V8 package exhales with Speed Engineering long tube
headers featuring ARP header bolts and FelPro gaskets. This feeds
Speed Engineering's stainless 3-inch X-pipe dual exhaust with
x-pipe. So you get a full dual exhaust - a true rarity in the 4th
gen community! This was even upgraded to a 4L60E four-speed
automatic transmission. It's a performance build with an FTI 3600
lockup torque converter, B&M trans cooler, and the ability to
handle up to 450 hp. There's a huge list of big investments, so we
suggest you call for the full details. Not only is it powerful, but
they also invested correctly in handling. It includes updated arms,
BMR handling springs, and Koni struts and shocks. Moving down the
undercarriage, you'll see the BMR tunnel mount adjustable torque
arm. In the rear are adjustable lower control arms, a panhard bar,
and a BMR rear sway bar. You also have an LS steering rack for the
power steering, four-wheel power disc brakes, and grippy Toyo
tires.
The sale comes complete with build receipts, the owner's manual,
and the components to re-install air conditioning if you so desire
(it currently keeps them off for added power.) This kind of custom
and powerful 4th gen is absolutely irresistible. So at a price like
this, you know you need to hurry on this deal. Call now!
