This DB6 Vantage is 1 of 153 original LHD Vantage specification DB6
Vantage's produced by the factory.
This U.S. specification LHD DB6 Vantage was ordered new by Mr. F.
Gillmore of Oyster Bay, Long Island, New York and delivered through
Aston Martin importer J S Inskip, New York City. The factory
guarantee Show it to be originally finished in Pacific Blue with
Natural Connolly leather trim as it sits today. It left the Newport
Pagnell factory equipped with an impressive array of standard as
well as non-standard equipment, Vantage-spec. high horsepower
engine, 5-speed ZF manual gearbox, Normalair air conditioning,
3.73:1 limited-slip differential, Chrome wheels, 3-ear hubcaps,
Heated rear screen, Britax safety belts, Bosch Koln radio,
power-operated aerial and two Marchal fog lamps.
The DB6 would remain in the New York area for a good portion of its
life changing ownership several times. Circa 2010, this DB6 Vantage
was purchased by a well-known Kuwaiti collector, restored in
Switzerland and then housed for many years within his Swiss
collection. Unused and on static display for many years, in June
2021, this DB6 Vantage was sold at auction in Switzerland. It was
then exported from Switzerland and imported to the United
States.
Soon thereafter, this DB6 Vantage found its way to our inventory
being offered for sale once again. While in the Autosport Designs
care, approximately $50,000 was spent on servicing (Full service
maintenance, filters and fluids, spark plugs, coolant flush, brake
service, gearbox and differential service, carburation and ignition
system service, completed refurbishment of the air conditioning
system, repair of the already fitted EZ electronic power steering
system as well as various misc. items) for what was an excellent
restoration, but which had suffered solely from lack of use. Now in
excellent and ready to use condition, this DB6 found its way into
the ownership of one of our long time clients and Aston collector
from Alabama.
Kept for a season of use and enjoyment, this DB6 Vantage has been
traded once again to Autosport Designs and for what? Another DB6
Vantage from our inventory, but in Silver Birch, a favored JB 007
color by this gentleman collector for some reason.
On a recent road test, this rare DB6 Vantage with factory air
conditioning can be described as being in superb condition
throughout and ready for immediate road use or concours
showing.
