I am looking to sell my late father's project truck. He just about had her completely retored and finished sadly before cancer took him away from me not long ago. ***#FCancer***. This rare 1964 Chevy Panel truck has been about 80% restored and has been garage kept until recently, It is being currently stored outside my mother's home in Amarillo,TX. I want to find a person that can see the beauty my Dad saw in this old classic milk truck and finish what he started. I would finish her, but restoring cars has not been my thing and I think that she is better off with someone who can put the love, time, and last bit of TLC into finishing her. Which I think honestly won't take much. Basically, all the truck needs is for the back inside interior finished. He was able to get the back top liner up and installed before the 3rd and last chemo treatment poisoned him. The liner has slightly began to fall down now and will need to be fixed. He was planning to build speaker boxes to go over the wheels to make additional seating in the back and even had drawings sketched out for that but never made it that far to build them out. I have not seen a comparable yet that has been finished out like my Dad had planned to finish his out and I personally think he had the best idea anyways. I watched him rebuild this project of his from a hole infested shell of scrap metal starting around when I was 15 years old ( I will be 45 soon ) and he worked on it till he passed at 73 yearrs old so I may be a little biased, hee hee. As to the truck driving, she ran great and I drove it a few times, (proud moments too) but because I live in DFW area, I was not able to maintain her properly by regularly starting up and driving her often so it has not been started in a long while now. I personally purchased a new battery recently for it but could not get it to start up still. I believe she will with no problem at all once she has some gas or an experienced mechanic take a look at her. From what I was told, My Dad only had to lower the rear end before i could take it at high speeds on the highway. The engine needs a real good cleaning for sure. Also, I know nothing about what is in the engine but I think he has a 305 in there but not certain. I posted the pics of it to help with that and can send more if need be. He also, personally custom mixed and painted that awesome turqoise blue in his own garage at home too. We call that color Ronnie blue. It is more beautiful than the pictures make it out to be too. He loved chrome, so everything he could put chrome on he did. His plan was a chrome pin striping or some sort of pinstriping to finish his vision on the paint job. She shines so beautifully in the sun as is. The front interior has been completed redone and he kept it as exact to the original as he could. I feel tha asking price is fair compared to similar vehicles but i am will ing to consider all good offers. Contact me and lets see if we can find her a new forever home! Such a rare GEM I hope others see it too. God Bless you all and thank you for looking!!!
