Vehicle Description
Freshly removed from The Throttlestop Museum, we are proud to offer
this incredible 1959 Matchless G12 CS. Matchless dates back to 1899
making it one oldest British Motorcycle marques and probably best
known for their economical road going motorcycles. While it was not
their main focus, Matchless had a long history of racing success,
winning the first single cylinder race at the Isle of Man in
1907.
The Matchless G12 produced from 1958 to 1966 to specifically
capture the US market, it failed to gain the recognition like its
other European counterparts. The Matchless G12 CS was an off road
version of the G12 with improved ground clearance, upswept siamese
exhaust and an increased compression ratio. The 646cc twin was
known for being extremely torquey and reliable. The CS was not a
full bore trials bikes but better known as a Desert Racer.
This example is stunning from top to bottom. Completely restored to
the highest of quality, there was no stone left unturned in this
build. Only covering 2 miles since it's completion, we have given
this Matchless our full tune up and stamp of approval. This G12 CS
is ready to be enjoyed. These hard to find Matchless G12 CS's are
an appreciating classic and perfect for any collector or
enthusiast!
