Vehicle Description
This 1957 Chevrolet 150 is the cool-cruising two-door that loves to
impress you with a true sense of vintage style inside and out. And
that's before you get to tell its unique story of a highly original
cruiser where the sale to you will be the first time it has ever
been owned outside of the original family!
How do you get a '57 Chevy that looks this authentic and
attractive? Keep it in the family for 65+ years. According to the
consignor, she was 11 when her uncle bought this Chevy brand new.
And the car has been in her family ever since. The 150 may have
been the lowest-priced tier, but you get the same elements you love
in the other '57s with the iconic front end, dual rocket-like hood
ornaments, and sharply-pointed tailfins. But the full-length side
trim is borrowed from the earlier 1955 Bel Air. So while the 150
was the base model back in the day, today it has a unique, premium,
and very vintage style. The factory-correct Larkspur Blue was given
a proper respray in 2002. It has matured nicely to have a good
gloss while still pairing well with the likely original brightwork.
So it looks like a unique and attractive survivor with a story to
tell.
The original interior trim code is the classic 150-line's black and
silver. It continues to show the vintage style on the dash,
headliners, and detailed door panels. And while the seats may look
a little out of place for the 150, those are actually seat covers
protecting what's believed to be the original upholstery. We know
you're going to love showing this one off for its originality, and
this really gets the 1950's feeling right with a simplified
dual-spoke steering wheel, long column shifter, clean window glass,
and a smooth dash with a radio delete plate. Plus, the classic
Sears under-dash air conditioner is a great period-correct touch.
And since it appears to have the main components in place and
running R134a, you can likely get it to blow cold again with a
small service or just a recharge.
Because this has a full known family history, it's believed that
this still has its original powerplant under the hood. Heck, even
the ultra-low odometer is believed to be accurate in this time
capsule. The 235 cubic-inch motor is smooth and torque-filled, and
it was a mainstay of Chevrolet vehicles for decades. There's plenty
of age and originality to this to help tell the car's story, but it
also fires up and runs with the gusto you get in a well-maintained
family classic. The three-on-the-tree manual transmission gives
great power control, and the classic whitewall tires are a new set
put on in 2022 to make for a better ride and traction.
A history this interesting needs the right documentation, and so
the car comes with the original bill of sale, owner's manual, and
maintenance records. So if you're someone who appreciates an iconic
classic with one of the best stories around, this Chevy 150 is a
rare treat. That's why it won't be looking for its second family
for long. Call today!!!
