The 1929 Ford Model A replica was built by Harry Shay with a contract with Ford Motor Co. to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Model A in 1980.
With only 5000 ever built it was destined to become a Classic. They look like a century old classic, but beneath the Vintage looks is a more modern drivetrain.
The 2.3 liter 4 cylinder is from the Pinto/Mustang of 1980.

This particular car was sold to the Valvoline Oil Co. in 1980. This Shay Deluxe was used to promote grand openings of their fast lube stores that were opening in the Pacific Northwest. Over a 20 year period .Over the 20 year period this car was trailered to 150 locations and then wharehoused in Portland, Oregon.in 2000 the fast lube business we’re sold and the CEO that was going to retire soon purchased the car from the corporation. The Shay was shipped to Lexington KY with 5200 original miles. The new owner built a 2 car garage for his new Shay and proceeded to take his diamond and preform a full restoration. this included complete new electrical system every wire was replaced. New custom Convertible top and side curtains. 5 New Coker wide whitewalls. completely new modern dashboard with gauges and CD player.
