For Sale: 1972 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray in Stafford, Virginia

Vehicle Description

This upgraded 1972 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is powered by a 502ci big-block V8 GM crate engine linked to a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes color-matched removable T-tops, Rally wheels with newer BFGoodrich tires, power windows, an Alpine sound system, and dual exhaust outlets. Finished in metallic blue over a black vinyl interior, this C3 Corvette is now offered with service records and a clear Virginia title in the seller’s name.

The metallic blue finish was applied within the last year and matches the pair of removable T-top roof panels. Exterior features include new chrome bumpers, vented front fenders, a big-block hood, a driver-side mirror, and a dual exhaust system.

Steel 15-inch Rally wheels with polished trim rings are wrapped in 225/70 front and 255/60 rear BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised-white-letter tires. All four tires have been replaced within the last year.

The two-seat interior is fitted with black vinyl buckets, matched to the door panels, dash, and center console. The carpeting and embroidered floor mats are trimmed with blue. Amenities include power windows and a modern Alpine AM/FM/CD sound system with a pop-out touchscreen, a subwoofer, and four speakers. The seller notes that the clock and the windshield wipers do not work.

Instrumentation consists of a 160-mph speedometer, a 7K-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges in the center stack that show the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 2,000 miles, which the seller reports to be accurate.

The upgraded Chevrolet ZZ502 502ci big-block V8 crate engine was factory-rated at 508 horsepower and 580 lb-ft of torque. Equipment includes aluminum oval-port cylinder heads; a forged steel crankshaft, rods, and pistons; a Proform carburetor; a hydraulic roller camshaft; and headers. Documentation from a Corvette specialty shop shows the transmission fluid, differential fluid, power steering fluid, and other parts have been replaced. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a console-shifted TH400 three-speed automatic transmission and a Detroit Locker rear end.

The seller notes that the brake pads have been replaced at all four corners. The rebuilt steering box is connected to a power steering system. Receipts show an alignment was performed and the master cylinder, tie rod ends, and steering column shaft were worked on in October 2022.
