Mercedes Benz SL500 in excellent condition with only 85,780
original miles. It looks spectacular, runs great, and is an
excellent driver. The Mercedes is finished in the beautiful and
desirable color combination of Silver over Grey interior. This is
also the correct and original color scheme. This SL500 comes with
both the power soft-top and auxiliary hardtop. The original
manuals, books, 2 keys and remotes, tools, jack, and spare are also
still with the car. The original mileage is also verified not only
by the condition of the car, but also by the clear Ohio title,
pictured in this ad, showing the mileage as "Actual."
We have driven this Mercedes almost 1,000 miles in the past couple
months. During that time the car was completely reliable, had no
issues, and was a true pleasure to drive.
There is also a copy of the AutoCheck report in this ad. The report
is totally clean, shows no accident history, and verifies the low
mileage. Many in the classic car industry are saying that this body
style Mercedes SL, the R129, is the next classic generation of
Mercedes that will start going up in value. One could easily buy
this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years

Exterior
The Silver exterior is in fantastic condition. As one can see in
the photos, the paint has a brilliant gloss, deep shine, and smooth
finish. Both doors open and shut nicely; it has that solid Mercedes
touch and feels like a vault door closing. The car exhibits nice
body panel fit overall. The original alloy wheels are in great
shape with a brilliant finish and no curb rash. The tires are
literally brand new with less than 10 miles on them and are
correctly sized 245/45R17. There are no major imperfections that
have been intentionally excluded from the photos. As one can see in
the many photos of the underside, this SL500 is very clean
underneath. We have also included specific photos of the rockers,
lower front and rear quarter panels, and other areas on the car
most prone to rust to show how nice it looks.

Interior
The Grey leather interior of the SL500 looks absolutely fantastic.
The seats are great condition and look just as nice in person as
they do in the photos with no split seams, holes, or excessive
wear. The seat is not overly worn in the typical area on the
bolster where the driver gets in and out. The wood grain throughout
the interior looks awesome with no delamination. The carpet looks
great with no stains, rips, or holes. All of the gauge faces are
crisp and clean the lenses are crystal clear. The door panels look
wonderful with no cracks or splits, and both door pulls are solid.
The black convertible soft-top is in great condition. The rear
windows are clear with no yellowing or fogginess. The dash is in
excellent condition with no cracks, fading, or sun fading. The
original radio work well and gets good reception. Most importantly,
the dash has never been cut or modified for an aftermarket
installation. Please note the power antenna works as well. The
headliner is sagging a bit on the hardtop. This car has never been
smoked in; there is no aroma of cigarettes what so ever and no burn
marks. The trunk is very clean and nicely detailed with the
original Mercedes tool roll, Mercedes first aid kit, spare tire,
rim, and jack.
The excellent condition of this interior is a huge testament to the
meticulous care and attention this Mercedes has received throughout
its life and another great verification of the low original
mileage.
Mechanical
This SL500 appears to be in very nice mechanical condition and it
is ready to be enjoyed. As stated above, we have recently put
almost 1,000 miles on this Mercedes with no issues at all. The
engine starts right away every time and idles smooth. It is an
exceptional driver that feels great on the road and at highway
speeds. In the video one can observe the car accelerating on the
highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking
to a stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that it
runs great, there are no strange noises or vibrations, and the car
performs quite nice overall. The brakes are responsive and do not
pull to one side or the other. There is no blue smoke when starting
or driving the car. It runs cool and does not overheat. Also, the
engine bay is clean, nicely detailed, and correct as one can see
from the photos.
Please note in the video the dash warning lights; they light up
when the key is first turned on and then go off when the engine is
started just as they should. There are no "check engine" lights
that stay on. The horn works as do the fog lights, headlights,
brights, turn signals, interior lights, indicators, dash lights,
wipers, power locks, power seats in all directions, power mirrors
in all directions, heated seats, roll bar, rear window defroster,
and blower. The a/c works and blows cold. The power convertible top
works properly and the entire operation of raising and lowering the
automatic power top can be viewed in the video in this ad. All of
the gauges work and the clock keeps time. This Mercedes has lots of
power with the 5.0 liter V8 engine. Not enough can be said as to
how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the
top down on a beautiful day.
Overall Condition
Overall, this 1999 SL500 is in excellent condition and is a true
bargain at our asking price. This car is a premium example; it is
very clean with low miles and a clean history with no accidents.
This Mercedes is a great value and will only appreciate over time.
Someone could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell
it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
