This 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 W-30 Tribute convertible takes
everything you love and turns it up a notch. That's how you get
extra vibrant red paint, an interior loaded with everything you
want - including cold-blowing A/C, and a fresh performance build of
the big V8. So this is the kind of drop-top that's just the ticket
for the true muscle car enthusiast.
Refinished in a deep metallic red, this has the smooth style you
get from a quality application. It's not so fancy that you'll be
afraid to cruise this convertible, but some people may also swear
the finish is candy-coated. Good chrome and beautiful lines are all
about that Oldsmobile elegance. It's also still a proper 442
tribute, and that means speedy upgrades like the Super Stock
wheels, hood locks, and a notched rear bumper for the dual exhaust
tips. There's a terrific white stripe package painted on the shows
off the hood scoops and frames the wheel wells as it zooms down the
side. And when the white convertible top is in place, this even
looks like a sharply coordinated two-tone package. It all makes for
a classic that's equal parts power and panache.
Because the white looks so good against the red, you've also got a
full parchment white interior. They invested the right money here
to be vintage yet fresh. For example, the upholstery, carpeting,
and dash have been refreshed, but they keep the stock style, right
down to the wood-like trim and button-top seatbacks. Even the full
courtesy light package greets you when the door opens. This is
loaded with factory-style features like a power convertible top,
power locks, and power windows (the passenger side may need a
little help.) Even the upgrades are subtly done, like the factory
controls for the air conditioning now blowing cold with modern
R134a refrigerant, and the vintage style radio is really an AM/FM
stereo that features Bluetooth. This has the best in driver's
features with front bucket seats, a center console, and an Olds
sports steering wheel mounted on a tilt column. Plus, the sporty
round gauges even feature a tic-toc-tach.
Under the hood is exactly what you want to see: 455 cubic inches of
big block muscle. With a solid investment here, it looks show-ready
with the bright blue block, polished valve covers, and large air
element that gets fresh air from the hood scoops. And this clean
look is your gateway to talk about the solid investment in the
motor. We're told this was rebuilt about 2k miles ago. This
includes upgrades like Speed Pro pistons, roller rockers, and an
Edelbrock intake. There's also an updated cam that adds power and
rumble to the dual exhaust without getting too aggressive to stop
this from feeling like a true Oldsmobile. And there's an investment
in overall quality with the high-volume oil pump, Pertronix
distributor, and an engine re-seal. The TH400 three-speed automatic
transmission was rebuilt within the last couple of years to remain
stout but smooth. It feeds a 12-bolt Positraction rear end with
versatile 3.42 gears and an expensive W27 diff cover upgrade. And
while you're looking at the rear don't forget to notice the
stronger setup of boxed trailing arms and a thick sway bar. And the
power steering, power brakes, front discs, and wide cooper cobra
tires make a great all-around driver.
The sale comes complete with the original Protect o Plate warranty
card, dealer invoice, owner's manual, service manual, and build
receipts. This is the powerful, sharp, and all-around stunner
you've always wanted. So don't let it slip away, call today!
