Vehicle Description
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1971 Dodge Dart Swinger
for your consideration. The car is powered by a 318V8 with a manual
transmission. The car snaps to life with a turn of a key and sounds
great. The Dart was introduced as a lower-priced full-sized car in
1960 but then quickly became a mid-sized car and then finally a
compact from 1963-1976. By 1967 brought the 4th generation and
quite arguably the cleanest and sharpest design yet. They received
revised steering, a complete face-lift, a wider stance and the
ability to accept a wider range of engine options including big
blocks with the redesigned K-member up front. Curved glass was also
used for the first time ever in a Chrysler compact that created a
unique appearance at the rear of the Dart.
The "Swinger" name was applied to all the Dart two-door hardtops
except in the high-line custom series, the swinger model was
available as a four- door version as well but few were actually
produced.
MOPAR is synonymous with muscle. Perhaps no other company flirted
with the edge when it came to power, performance and curb appeal
than Plymouth / Dodge. The "Pistol Grip", "Hemi", "Impact Colors",
"Plum Crazy", "Panther Pink", "Vitamin C", etc. were all aspects
that were masterfully executed and marketed by MOPAR during the
horsepower wars of the 60's and early 70's. Today, MOPAR muscle
remains revered in all collector car circles.
