For Sale: 1969 Triumph TR6 in Stratford, Connecticut

Vehicle Description

Last owner for 20 years (in NJ), first owner for 30 years in Nevada...........excellent body and floors, very nice bright red paint, excellent black interior.

Last owner told us the car has seen very few miles since the engine was rebuilt and the brakes were done. From our driving and testing, oil pressure was fine, no smoke, and the engine was smooth and powerful. No clunks from the rear end, all gauges worked fine, steering and braking we all very good.

Top could very well be original and it looks fine, same with the boot cover. Engine bay is unusually clean, has an aluminum radiator and a nicely done metal shroud. Wood dash is not cracked and neither is the crash pad above it. Trunk is carpeted and very clean, and all of the exterior chrome appears to be new (no peeling, worn, or pitted).

Of course, with wire wheels, the car has the appearance of a TR4....a more classic looking car. But the 2.5 liter six engine is powerful, smooth, and incredibly torquey...one can accidentally start in 3rd gear and barely notice it.

Has a nice aftermarket steering wheel and an ancient (but working) stereo-cassette which, in my mind, is the best indicator of `not being owned by a kid.` Just a mature, long time owner who always had it garaged (no fading of the paint) and told us `it has never seen the rain.`

All of which makes for a dandy little 53 year old classic sports car.
