In 2019, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of P1075's unrivaled
success, Gulf Oil, Safir GT40, and Superformance have partnered to
bring you a limited edition 1969 Tribute GT40 featuring P1000
continuation prototype chassis numbers. These GT40's include all
aesthetic features of P1075's 1969 Le Mans victory, a Limited
Edition Gulf GT40 Guitar, and also a plaque naming twenty five of
those employees who brought the Gulf racing team such great success
that 1969 season.
The 50th Anniversary Gulf GT40 was offered in two trims. The
Tribute trim which incorporates an all exterior package to provide
the tool room GT40s with options never offered before such as 10"
and 14" rear Magnesium BRM wheels, Carbon Reinforced Rear Clam,
Single Fuel Filler, Special Roof Vents, Bug Deflector, Pit Light,
Mud Flaps, and Beveled Door Handles.
The second and most sought after trim was the Tool Room trim.
Provided ready for FIA inspection, the Tool Room was built to be
aesthetically and mechanically correct to the original history
making car.
P1162 was built to the exacting Tool Room trim with a Cobra
Automotive FIA correct 302 Engine making 475 HP and mated to an
inspection ready transaxle. Built to turn heads on the grass or
spin heads on the track, GT40P/1162 is titled as a 1969
Superformance GT40 and is available for $449,950.
