Here's an uncommon sight here at Coyote Classics, but a welcome one
to be sure! This 1961 Oldsmobile F-85 Cutlass is positively
beautiful, a former AACA National 1st Place winner that was
modified to be the low-slung charmer that it is. Packing
high-compression V8 power, adjustable air-ride suspension, 18"
chrome wheels and a dual exhaust system, what else could you want
from a looker such as this? Fitted with the original all-aluminum
215 C.I. "Rockette" V8, this F-85 came from the factory with the
rare "Power Pack" option that included a higher compression ratio,
a 4-barrel carburetor, and a dual exhaust system. Hooking that
power to the pavement is a column-shifted 3-speed automatic,
propelling this F-85 "Rocket" down the road quickly and with ease.
Despite the small size of the 215 C.I. V8, the light weight of this
car also means that it's deceptively quick! Soft yet responsive
4-wheel air ride suspension is provided by Air Ride Technologies
using their latest system, which is fully adjustable from the
inside of the car using the touch of a button. Every angle of this
Cutlass is sure to catch the eyes of passerby, with creased concave
bodylines that look absolutely gorgeous. The rear quarterpanels
feature downward-sloping fins which evoked a "teardrop" look.
Eye-catching "Glacier Blue" paint covers the car, having been
buffed to a brilliant shine and looking absolutely wonderful paired
with that white deluxe vinyl top. Exterior chrome looks fantastic
as well, with little to no pitting shown. The interior is truly
far-out, the epitome of space-age style. Vinyl bucket seats in
light and dark blue look absolutely stunning as well as highly
comfortable, and the padded dashboard appears factory-spec. The
air-ride suspension is controlled by remote from inside the car,
allowing the driver to set this Old's height as they please!
Options fitted to this beautiful F-85 include power steering,
factory gauges, an AM pushbutton radio, a heater + defroster,
controllable air-ride suspension, vent windows, and a one-into-two
exhaust system. The car rides on a striking set of Billit
Specialties 18" chrome wheels over slick Nitto "Extreme" blackwall
tires. In addition to having tons of documentation, the previous
owner states that "nothing has been cut or altered, and the car
could just as easily be put back to stock if so desired." What that
means is that you can get the best of both worlds! Whether you're
looking for a true low-rider or you're wanting to take a former
AACA first-place winner back to stock, this '61 Oldsmobile F-85 is
an uncommon sight that's just looking for a new owner to take car
of it just as nicely as it has been. We think it would look pretty
good sitting in your garage.
