Vehicle Description
This 1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme seems to straddle that line of
luxury and performance you love in a good Olds coupe. After all,
you get classically good looks and a loaded interior. Plus, there's
a 307 cubic-inch V8 with a four-barrel waiting for you under the
hood.
These Oldsmobiles were for the lovers of angles. The curved
waterfall grille and steep slope of the rear make these attractive
and memorable to all. There are nice premium touches, everywhere
from the classic hood ornament up front to the full-length
pinstriping. This is even a one-family owned car. It was a country
coupe, and so the value price also reflects living life on dirt
roads. But the mileage is believed to be low, and we bet you're
really just thinking about all the different ways these Cutlass
Supremes are being customized today. We're really beginning to
appreciate how they had the right hints of sporty style (that's why
a generation of 442s was based on them.) And the polished rockers
and Super Stock wheels with raised white letter tires seem to
capture that spirit nicely.
The interior is part of this car's enduring appeal. It's hard to
find a car with a terrific coupe body that also has so much room
for everyone over two wide rows of bench seats. Plush velour, a
smooth dash, a good headliner, and good carpeting are all part of
an inviting style to this attractive burgundy. There are even good
cruiser features for everyone like the stock AM/FM/cassette stereo,
cup holders, and provisions for factory air conditioning (it will
need servicing to blow cold again.) And even when you're going
solo, this Cutlass is nice. The fold-down armrest, tilt steering
column, and driver-oriented dash make for a nice place to spend
some time.
This was born an optional Y-code car, and so it's great to see a
correct-style 307 cubic inch V8 under the hood. It's a great motor
to have because it fits this Oldsmobile coupe's luxury and power
nature. After all, this V8 was shared with cars like the Cadillac
Brougham and was closely related to the one found in the 442.
There's even a four-barrel carburetor on top to let this one inhale
deeply and make some big torque. Plus, we all know there's some
weekend tinkering that can release even more power from this hardy
V8. But right now, we just like how it fires up eagerly and is
ready to hit the road. And there are great driving features like
power steering, power brakes, front discs, a three-speed automatic
transmission, and sway bars front & rear.
The sale comes complete with the original warranty card and owner's
manual. This is the cool cruising Olds coupe with a hint of sporty
style and plenty of potential for our personal project. So at a
price like this, you know you don't want to let it slip away. Call
