Vehicle Description
The Ferrari Testarossa is a 12-cylinder mid-engine sports car
manufactured by Ferrari, which went into production in 1984 as the
successor to the Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer. The Testarossa is a
two-door coupe with a fixed roof that premiered at the 1984 Paris
Auto Show. All versions of the Testarossa had the power fed through
the wheels from a rear-mounted, five-speed manual transmission. The
Rear mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout (engine between the axles
but behind the cabin) keeps the centre of gravity in the middle of
the car, which increases stability and improves the car's cornering
ability, and thus results in a standing weight distribution of 40%
front: 60% rear.
The Testarossa name, which means "red head" in Italian, comes from
the red-painted cam covers on the flat-12 engine. The double
entendre with a red-headed woman was intentional - Ferrari and
Pininfarina regularly use descriptive terms related to a female's
body when describing the style of their automobiles.
MotoeXotica is proud to offer this exquisite, 1985 Ferrari
Testarossa that we purchased out of a prominent automotive
collection out of Florida. Just like any other piece of fine
Italian art, this Testarossa has withstood the test of time and
looks just as incredible as the day it hit the showroom floor. This
is just not some regular Testarossa - this particular car has been
owned by the same gentleman and meticulously maintained for over
the past twenty years! This car even still has the original,
leather covered Ferrari manuals, the extremely rare original
Ferrari tool kit and a custom car cover. You truly must see this
Ferrari to believe it!
Just as the translation says, this Ferrari is finished in Russo Red
and is in show room condition. The body is solid, sound and
straight. The paint is absolutely pristine - it shines bright and
has an incredible luster. Even the new weather-stripping looks
fantastic! This car is absolutely breathtaking in every sense of
the way.
Inside the Ferrari, you'll find black leather interior, complete
with Ferrari headrests that look simply stunning. It is easy to see
that this car was extremely loved and it shows in every way. The
seats show no major imperfections or tacking, same with the
dashboard and headliner. Originally, the Testarossa came with black
carpeted floors and the previous owner upgraded the carpets to the
beautiful red carpet with the black dancing horse on each
floorboard, which really puts the cherry on top. The handsome and
complete center console houses all the car's controls from the AC
to the power windows.
Under the rear deck, you will find a powerful 4.9L Ferrari Colombo
Flat 12, mid mounted engine. Lubricated with a dry sump system,
this 301 cubic inch engine can turn out up to 390 horsepower and
361 pounds of torque! The previous owner previously had a new
computer, new fuse box and had all brand new front suspension
installed making the car exceptionally easy to maneuver and handle,
even at speeds upwards of 180mph!Putting the ponies to the pavement
is a 5-speed transmission, making this Testarossa a blast to
drive.
The replaced and upgraded Ferrari wheels look incredible and give
the car a slightly more aggressive look. It's very rare to find
such a beautiful and documented Ferrari Testarossa in the condition
you see here. This car would make an incredible addition to any car
collection as it is in fantastic condition and is a very fun car to
drive. The VIN on this beauty is ZFFSA17A2F0059135 and the current
mileage shows 6,929. The odometer was replaced at 14,000 miles per
the previous owner. Just had full, engine out service performed by
GLB Motorworks here in St. Louis, as well as a new clutch
installed. The Ferrari comes with a clean Florida title. GET OUT
AND DRIVE!!!
