1991 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster
VIN: WDBFA61E4MF021844
First presented to the market in 1989, the 4th generation of the
Mercedes-Benz SL class remains a favorite among collectors and
drivers alike. This series of roadster was the last to carry
Mercedes' older nomenclature scheme that placed the "SL" range
designation, which stands for Sportlich-Leicht, (Sport Lightweight)
after the number representing the engine displacement. The number
is in reference to the engine displacement, in this case the 3.0L
V6.
These SL line of cars feature modern technology and equipment
designed in the pre-DaimlerChrysler days. Vehicles came out of the
factory in Sindelfingen and was built with uncompromising quality.
This car presented at auction is a well cared for original example.
The odometer shows 140k miles but the car presents very well. Under
current ownership for the last 12 years, the following was recently
completed/replaced on this car:
- New Bosch fuel pumps and filters
- Front struts
- Front rotors and pads
- Front tie rod ends
- Rebuilt hydraulics for top
- Recent top
- New windshield
- Rebuilt dash cluster
- Replaced ignition switch
- Tires have approximately 2000 miles
The owner reports the car will need work on the Air Conditioning
system. It is a self-proclaimed "garage princess" with many miles
of driving pleasure ahead!
This car to be collected from Mesquite, Nevada.
