Ford has produced a number of different Harley Davidson edition F150 pickups, but I don’t think they did it better than in 2003 (which represented the 100th anniversary for both companies). That year combined not just an exciting look and a luxurious interior, but it also brought a supercharged 5.4L V8 complements of Ford’s SVT Lightning. It all makes for a very capable sport pickup that is far more than just good looks. And with just 23k miles and a spotless history, this example is about as nice as you’ll find.
This 2-owner truck was built at the Kansas City plant and spent its life in the small town of Fairbury, NE. It is as rust-free as any you might find. The black and silver paint with Harley badges and graphics gives a very handsome look, made even moreso by the factory billet grille insert and chrome side bars. Everything appears original and in remarkable condition for its age; it’s obvious this truck was well cared for. An ARE tonneau cover with removeable spoiler has been added to protect the bed and its unique Harley Davidson liner, and the front windows received removeable tint. The 20” chrome aluminum wheels still have their original Goodyear Eagle P275/45 tires.
Power comes from a 5.4L V8 topped by a Roots-type supercharger. This setup was factory rated at 340 hp and 425 ft-lb of torque. Everything is stock under the hood, without any pulley swaps or cold air intakes. The exhaust and emissions systems are stock as well. The engine runs perfectly, and between the supercharger and high-performance muffler it makes all the right sounds under boost. Behind the engine is a 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission that feeds a 3.73 limited slip rear end. Vehicle performance is enhanced by sport-tuned shock absorbers and a lower ride height (which also helps ingress/egress).
The matching two-tone interior still has a rich leather smell! Both the front and rear passengers get comfortable leather bucket seats with a center console, all of which carry Harley Davidson logos. There is also an overhead console with digital display. Along with all the standard goodies, this truck is further equipped with front seat heaters, a power sunroof, and a power sliding rear window. Everything works as expected and there are no warning lights of any kind. An aftermarket sound system has been installed which includes a Kenwood Excelon head unit and Boston Acoustics amplifiers. This F150 also has its owner’s manual with special leather binder along with the original window sticker.
The 2003 Harley Davidson F150 really brings a lot to the table with its great looks, comfortable interior, and supercharged performance. You don’t see a lot of them on the market, and when you do they often have six-figure mileage or questionable modifications. This one is a different story. Its outstanding condition is commensurate with its low miles and clean history. And with recent sport truck prices well into six figures, it represents a nice bargain as well.
