Vehicle Description
1970 Chevrolet 396 SS Nova. The L34 396/ 350 HP Big Block,
Non-Matching #. Muncie M-20 4-speed, 12 bolt 3:55 Posi & Body are
all matching as was built in 1970. The cylinder heads are also
original. See attached photos of cowl tag, dash vin and door
sticker. Other photos show vin stamped on trans. I bought the car
in late 2002 and had it shipped from Tempe, AZ to Illinois. Most of
the work listed below was completed by 2004 except as noted. Engine
machine shop work done by Integrity Automotive Machine, including
crank grind/polish, all new bearings and rings, ARP rod bolts &
main studs. Comp Cams roller cam & lifter set (CL11-420-8) w/Comp
Cams pushrods and springs. All new intake & exhaust valves. MSD
distributor /w MSD 6AL adjustable rev limiter. Had a Holley for a
while but got tired of rebuilding it because the car sits for long
periods of time. Now has an Edelbrock Performer. Headers ceramic
coated by JET-HOT. Muncie M-20 overhauled with all new bearings
etc. Still have old parts from rebuild. CenterForce clutch disc &
pressure plate. Hurst shifter. 4 AutoMeter gauges. Steering column
rebuilt w/new bearings and lock cylinder along with new matching
door lock cylinders. Subframe & inner fender wells powder coated by
House of Powder, Inc. New fuel tank. New fuel lines. New fuel pump.
New starter. All new steering linkage. Original control arms w/new
ball joints. New exhaust w/Flow Master mufflers (42543) installed
Aug of 2020. New rear tires in the summer of 2021. I have lots of
paperwork to back all this up. When I bought the car in 2002 the
previous owner had the decks milled so the engine stamping # is not
visible but the block casting # of 3935440 is correct for this car
built in Jan of 1970. I keep it in a garage 100% of the time I've
owned it. Certainly, never drove in rain or snow. Being from AZ it
is a solid almost completely rust free car except for the rear
fenders where the previous installed fender flairs. The car is
utterly reliable. Since I've owned it
